Before our trip to Hong Kong, my wife and I had been praying that the Lord may open up a door for us to talk to my mom and my eldest sister about salvation.
One day, as we were having lunch with them and my niece and nephew, my wife, guided by the Holy Spirit, seized a chance to start a conversation on salvation. The good thing was all of them were attentive to the messages my wife delivered. As they asked questions, she answered them one by one.
Another day, I went out with my sister alone. The Lord also gave me a chance to preach the Gospel to her, straight and plain. She listened.
Three days before we flew back to Chicago, we had a nice quality time with all of them at my sister’s home. After supper, my wife sat down with my sister and spent at least an hour to talk with her about salvation again and to address the questions she did not know the clear answers such as how to accept Jesus as her personal Savior.
Before we left my sister’s home, I gave her a personal note. This note was briefly about how I became a Christian, and the peace and the Love God had given me.
Although my mom and my sister have not yet opened their hearts to receive the Lord, we will continue to pray that the seed we have planted in their hearts may grow. 1 Corinthians 3:6-7 (NIV): I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.
Also, my wife and I have become the ambassadors of Christ as we traveled from Chicago to Hong Kong to deliver the Good News to my family. 2 Corinthians 5:20 (NIV): We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.
