Years ago, I saw little yellow flowers on my lawn. At first, they were pleasing to my eyes, so I let them grow. They did grow more and more in a very short period of time. Later, when I realized that they were weeds, the dandelions, I immediately took actions to remove them. After some efforts, I cleared them all at last.
Sin is like dandelion. No matter it is adultery, idolatry, pornography , self-seeking, jealousy, greed…, when we are aware of it, it is better to cut it out at once; otherwise, it will take root in our soul and mind and heart, and ruin our relationship with the Lord.
Isaiah 59:2 (NIV) says, “But your iniquities have separated you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.” We need to ask God to cleanse us from our sins.
A great analogy! You are growing in the knowledge of the Lord, Dicky. Hallelujah. (I still like dandelions though.) ~shalom
